- Stealth Frigate INS Tabar represented the Indian Navy, while Corvettes RFS Zelyony Dol and RFS Odintsovo of the Baltic Fleet represented the Russian Federation Navy.
- The focus of exercises were on enhancing interoperability, understanding and procedures for various maritime operations.
Key Points
i.The exercise will cover all aspects of maritime operations. Various operations like anti-air firings, underway replenishment drills, helicopter operations, boarding drills and seamanship evolutions were performed.
ii.INDRA Navy was undertaken as part of INS Tabar’s visit to St. Petersburg, Russia to participate in the 325th Navy Day celebrations of the Russian Navy.
iii.The Army version of INDRA exercise is set to be held from August 1-13, 2021 in Volgograd, Russia.
Background
The Bilateral Exercise INDRA has been held between India & Russia since 2003.
- The 11th Edition of the exercise was held in Bay of Bengal in September, 2020.
