UNICEF partnered with Airtel to provide Education Content in Africa

India’s Bharti Airtel has partnered with UNICEF to provide health, education and youth-focused content to its customers in 17 African countries. By this partnership, the information related to health and education will be made available to Airtel customers for free across the 17 African countries. With improved connectivity, Africans will have free access to mobile applications and services developed by UNICEF, such as eduTrac, mTrac and U-report.

The partnership covers 17 countries – Kenya, Malawi, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

  • Awaaz Do is an initiative taken by UNICEF to mobilize Indian society to speak up for the more than eight million children currently out of school in the country.
  • Bharti Airtel was founded in 1995 and it’s Headquarters is in New Delhi
  • Sunil Bharti Mittal was the Founder of Bharti Airtel and also he is the current Chairman and MD. 
  • Airtel is the largest mobile operator in South Asia and the fourth largest in the world by subscriber base.
