Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka entered Guinness World Records for spending 804 days on ISS

Gennady Padalka:-

• Russian Cosmonaut Gennady Padalka has created world record in history by becoming the first man to spend longest time on International Space Station(ISS).
• He has set the Guinness World record by spending 804 days by 1st July 2015.
• He was supposed to come back to earth on September 2015 by which he would have spent 877 days almost two n half a year in space.
• He beat the old record of another Russian cosmonaut Sergai Krikalev.
• Segai is now retired and spent almost 803 days on 9 hrs. and 41 minutes in ISS during 1998 to 2005.
• 57 year old Padalka has served as commander of the crew member on ISS.
• He has yet to set record for his nine space walks aiming to complete 1000 days in space.

International Space Station (ISS):-

• It’s an artificial satellite launched on low earth orbit in 1998, can be visible in naked eye.
• ISS is the ninth space station to be inhabited by crews, following the Soviet and later Russian Salyut, Almaz, and Mir stations as well as Skylab from the US.
• Average speed is about 27,600 km/h.
• ISS does research on microgravity and space environment, mainly do experiments on testing of spacecraft systems and equipment required for missions to the Moon and Mars.
