New Chiefs for RAW and CRPF

The Government of India has appointed new Chiefs for Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) (India’s external intelligence agency) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Rajinder Khanna will be the new chief of the RAW and he will succeed Alok Joshi, who is getting retired on December 31.

The government also appointed Prakash Mishra, Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Union Home Ministry, the new Director-General of the CRPF. Mr. Mishra is a senior 1977-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre and he has served as Director-General of the Odisha Police and in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). CRPF is the mainstay for anti-Naxal operations and Mishra has himself spearheaded the battle when he was DGP of Odisha.

Arvind Saxena has been shifted as head of Aviation Research Centre (ARC). Saxena, a 1978 batch RAS cadre, will be Director of ARC which carries out aerial surveillance of the borders using its unmanned aerial vehicles and other flying machines including MIG and helicopters. ARC has also the responsibility with  IAF to transport Special Frontier Force (SFF) commandos.
