National Youth Day marking 157th birth anniversary of Vivekananda observed on January 12, 2020

The National Youth Day is observed on  January 12 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. National Youth is also famously known as Yuva Diwas. The Theme of  National Youth Day 2020 is “Channelizing Youth Power for Nation Building”.PM Modi Visits Belur Math:
On January 13, 2020 PM Modi visited Belur Math, the headquarters of Ramakrishna Mission in Howrah district of West Bengal to mark the 157th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

About National Youth Day:

i.The main objective of Yuva Diwas is to promote the philosophy and ideals of Swami Vivekananda among the youths.

ii.The government of India in the year 1984 declared Swami Vivekananda birthday as National Youth Day.

iii.National Youth Day is celebrated by performing the parade, speech on Swami Vivekananda, recitations, songs, conventions, essay-writing competition, seminars in various schools and colleges across the country.
