Nagaland Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom launched an app ‘i-Learn’ for CHOs

Nagaland Health Minister launches 'i-Learn' for Community Health OfficersOn March 23, 2021, Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom, launched a capacity building and performance tracking application, i-Learn for Community Health Officers (CHOs) in Nagaland.

  • The app is launched with the support of project NISHTHA which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Jhpiego.
  • NISHTHA is supporting Nagaland to obtain comprehensive primary healthcare through the operationalization of Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres.

About ‘Naga Telehealth’:

On September 9, 2020, S Pangnyu Phom in partnership with USAID’s NISHTHA-Jhpiego launched a telemedicine platform ‘Naga Telehealth’ to help people in remote areas to avail easier access to doctors for consultation. Under this platform, more than 1000 teleconsultations have been conducted so far.

The objective of the app ‘i-learn’: 

  • It is a self-facilitated learning app for CHOs to learn about new skills in clinical and non-clinical areas.
  • It is committed to supporting the state towards COVID19 and strengthening comprehensive primary healthcare.

Jhpiego’s NISHTHA:

  • It is a five-year project of Jhpiego, funded by USAID, which aims to transform, redesign and re-engineer primary health care in India
