i.The app can also send real-time data of temperature of cold-storage facilities to the main server.
ii.Co-WIN will also help the Government to monitor the entire vaccination process.
Modules in App:
Co-WIN app will have 5 modules – administrator, registration, vaccination, beneficiary acknowledgement & report.
i.The Administrator module will be used by administrators to conduct vaccination sessions, after which respective vaccinators and managers will be notified.
ii.People can use the registration module to get registered for vaccination, Using the module local authorities and surveyors can upload bulk data on co-morbidity.
iii.The vaccination Module will be used to verify beneficiary details and also to update vaccination status.
iv.The beneficiary acknowledgement module will generate QR-based certificates for people once they vaccinated, they can also send SMS to people who have registered.
v.Using the report module, the government can get to know about the number of vaccine sessions conducted, number of people who have attended the session/dropped out of the session.
Background:
in March, the Central government started working on a new mobile app namely CoWin-20 to help citizens track the number of positive COVID-19 cases around them. The app was later launched as Aarogya Setu that currently has over ten crore downloads on Google Play Store. But the erstwhile Co-WIN app remains to be still in the works, but with a different purpose. Now, the government during a press conference earlier this week explained the functionality of the Co-WIN app
