Maharashtra Launched Mahasamruddhi Mahila Sashaktikaran Scheme to Empower Rural Women

Maharashtra govt announced the Mahasamruddhi Mahila Sashaktikaran schemeThe Government of Maharashtra launched the “Maha Samruddhi Mahila Sashaktikaran scheme” to empower the women in rural areas. The scheme commenced on 8th March 2021, the International women’s Day 2021.

Aim:

To promote the listing of wife’s name along with husbands’ names on the 7/12 extract.

To promote the inclusion of wife’s name on house property documents.

What is 7/12 extract?

Saat baara utara(7/12) extract is the official agricultural land record of an individual or family registered with the revenue department of the state government.

Nodal agency:

i.Maharashtra State Rural Development department will be the nodal body for the implementation of the Maha Samruddhi Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana.

ii.The other government department will also be involved in the implementation of the scheme.

Features of the scheme:

i.Under this scheme, the Self Help Groups will organise exhibitions to showcase the works of the rural women.

ii.The village level members of the women cells and the rural livelihood mission of Maharashtra will also be involved under this scheme.

iii.To promote the products of Women SHGs, the state government will provide a sustainable market and branding tools to them.

iv.The food products of SHGs will be linked with market chains including the government offices and canteens, malls and private outlets, to enable women to earn higher remuneration.

v.Various skill development workshops will be conducted under this scheme.

Legal advice at free of cost will be extended to women entrepreneurs in rural areas.

Note:

The state government has announced to distribute subsidized sanitary napkins under the Asmita Yojana.
