Hindi Writer Prof. Sharad Pagare Honoured with Vyas Samman 2020

Hindi Writer Prof. Sharad Pagare to be conferred with Vyas SammanEstablished Hindi writer Professor Sharad Pagare from Madhya Pradesh has been chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Vyas Samman 2020 for his historic novel titled “Patliputru ki Samragi”. 

The 2020 Vyas Samman is the 30th Vyas Samman presented by KK Birla Foundation.

The novel – “Patliputru ki Samragi” was printed in the year 2010.

About Vyas Samman:

i.Vyas Samman is an annual award initiated by the KK Birla Foundation in 1991.

ii.The award honours the outstanding work in Hindi authored by an Indian citizen published during the past 10 years.

iii.The award consists of Rs.4 lakh cash award along with citation and a plaque.

Note:

Ram Vilas Sharma received the inagural Vyas Samman 1991 for his work ‘Bharat ke Pracheen bhasha parivar aur Hindi’.

i.Dr. Sharad Pagare is a distinguished scholar, researcher and professor of historical past.

ii.He has received various literary honours like Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi, Bharat Bhushan Samman.

iii.He has 5 novels, 6 collections of stories, 2 performs and dissertations to his credit.

iv.His works were translated into various languages like English, Oriya, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu.
