Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani e-Launched Agricultural Diversification Scheme-2021 for Tribal Farmers; Inaugurated ‘Command and Control Centre 2.0’

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani e-launches Agricultural Diversification Scheme-2021On June 22, 2021, Gujarat Chief Minister(CM) Vijay Rupani e-launched the Agricultural Diversification Scheme-2021 to benefit more than 1.26 lakh vanbandhu-farmers from 14 tribal districts of the state.

  • Under the scheme the tribal farmers will be benefited through the fertilizer-seed assistance of Rs 31 crores, under which 45 kg of urea, 50 kg of NPK and 50 kg of ammonium sulphate will be provided to them.
  • Seeds of crops such as maize, Bitter Melon (karela), Calabash (dudhi), tomato, millet, etc. will be provided through the scheme.

Other initiatives towards Tribes:

i.To enable the tribal farmers to cultivate on their own and not to be deprived of water, the state government (govt) has launched many irrigation schemes worth Rs 6600 crore in 4 years, to deliver irrigation water at high altitudes in the hilly areas of the tribal district (Through which, 5.45 lakh acres of land in the tribal areas got irrigation facility).

ii.The state govt has also decided to spend Rs 1 lakh crore for tribal people in next four years by launching VanbandhuKalyanYojana Part-2 (It was launched by Narendra Modi while he was the CM of Gujarat).

-Vijay Rupani Inaugurated the ‘Command and Control Centre 2.0’

i.In June 2021, CM Vijay Rupani also inaugurated the ‘Command and Control Centre(CCC) 2.0’ for monitoring activities in 54,000 schools, covering over 3 lakh teachers and 1 crore students across the state to predict and stop the dropping out from school.

ii.CCC 2.0 was linked with other projects such as Shala Praveshotsav and Gunotsav to monitor over 100 percent admission and zero drop out ratio. Other initiatives of the state towards students include Mission Vidya scheme and Gujarat Student Holistic Adaptive Learning App (G-SHALA) app.

In May 2021, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat gave his assent to the ‘Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, which provides imprisonment of up to 10 years for fraudulent/forcible conversion by marriage. It replaces the Gujarat Freedom of Religion Act, 2003.
