About ICAI
ICAI functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India(GOI). It’s affairs is managed by a Council as per the provisions of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

i.ICAI is the only licensing and regulatory body for the financial auditing and accounting profession in India.
ii.The recommendation of the institute is followed from the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) to companies and accounting organizations. It is the 2nd largest professional body of Chartered Accountants in the world.
